Bentley Motors Debuts New Lodge in Austria
Bentley Motors announced the opening of a new mountain lodge in Kitzbühel, Austria, a ski resort. The Bentley Lodge Kitzbühel is located at the foot of the Hahnenkamm, the site of the annual Hahnenkammrennen or World Cup alpine ski races.
The hotel is situated in a building that was built in 1919, the same year that Bentley Motors was founded. Bentley says that the materials and finishes used in the lodge were inspired by those found in the interior of a Bentley. The wood used on the lodge is traditional Tyrolean stone pine, while the stone used is from the nearby High Tauern or Hohe Tauern region.
The hotel offers activities that include fishing, hunting, horseback riding, skiing, tennis, and golf. In addition, guests will have use of a Bentley automobile during their stay (although guests will presumably be reminded that the center of Kitzbühel is largely car free).
The Hahnenkamm is in the Kitzbühel Alps directly south of the small medieval town, roughly 62 miles (100 kilometers) east of Innsbruck. Its summit is 5,617 feet (1,712 meters) above sea level.
