More travelers will hit the roads and board planes this Labor Day as compared to last year.

According to figures released by Airlines for America, a trade group, 14.2 million passengers are expected to fly on U.S. airlines during the seven-day Labor Day travel period, a 0.3% increase over the same interval last year. Eleven percent of those passengers will travel internationally.

The increase, according to the association, comes in part from the continued affordability of air travel as well as an increase in the number of available seats.

This year, the holiday travel period starts September 2 and runs through September 8. The busiest day is expected to be Friday, September 4.
