Starwood Introduces New Sheraton Grand Brand
Starwood announced the introduction of its new brand, Sheraton Grand. The hotel company debuted new Sheraton Grand properties in Bangalore, Beijing, Dubai, Edinburg, Miyazaki, Seoul, Taipei, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Rio de Janeiro.
The new brand is part of the hotelier’s Sheraton 2020 program, a new program intended to revamp and improve its Sheraton brand of hotels. Starwood will transform over 100 of its top Sheraton properties into Sheraton Grand hotels, primarily located in high-traffic areas. Starwood says that the new tier of hotels will also motivate other Sheraton properties to step up their service and appeal so that they may gain Sheraton Grand status as well.
The Sheraton Grand Bangalore has a pool and views of Brigade Lake, while the Sheraton Grand Beijing Dongcheng Hotel has over 25,000 square feet (2,322 square meters) of meeting and event space. The 54-story Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai has a rooftop pool and grand ballroom, and the Sheraton Grand Edinburgh Hotel has a spa with an infinity pool.
The Sheraton Grand Rio Hotel and Resort is the only beachfront hotel in Rio de Janeiro. The Sheraton Grand Ocean Resort has 10 restaurants and bars, while the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit has a pool surrounded by gardens.
The Sheraton Grande Taipei Hotel offers over 25,000 square feet (2,322 square meters) of meeting and event space, and the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel is an official Tokyo Disney Resort. Meanwhile, the Sheraton Grande Walkerhill has a casino and camping area where guests can barbeque.
