Photo Essay: Airbus A350, The New Kid on the Block
While Airbus’ new A350 XWB has been out for the better part of a year, it remains an elusive sight in the wild.
The A350 is the first all-new Airbus model since the double-decker A380 jumbo jet made its debut back in 2005. It is longer and wider than the existing A330 and A340 models and, through design advancements, significant use of composite materials, and all-new Rolls Royce turbofans, 25% more efficient.
To date, only Qatar Airways operates this particular model, with Finnair and Vietnam Airlines slated to join the party later this year.
But that doesn’t mean Airbus’ flagship airplane hasn’t made a splash. Our Photo Essay presents the new A350 in action across the globe.
