Marriott to Partner with AT&T for Guest Internet Services

DSC_0373A deal announced Tuesday between Marriott International and AT&T will see the hotelier’s guests getting vastly improved Internet service at its hotels in the coming months.

The two announced a deal that makes AT&T the “preferred network” for its properties as well as a service provider for its own systems.

AT&T will also help Marriott move many of its business applications to the cloud later this year and will provide a 4G LTE backup solution to maintain network continuity in case of any local service interruptions.  In addition, Marriott plans to move its voice services to the Internet as well, using AT&T to accomplish the task.

The company will also provide a dedicated support center for Marriott and its guests.

Unreliable Internet has been cited for four years in a row as the leading complaint by frequent travelers in Frequent Business Traveler’s Hotel Pet Peeves research in what can be considered a testament to the need to be connected.
