Hilton announced that the Hotel Alex Johnson Rapid City in South Dakota has become a Curio Collection hotel.  The property was built in 1928 by railroad magnate Alex Johnson, and incorporates restored bricks and hand-painted Sioux symbols into the design of the lobby.

The hotel has 143 guestrooms, each with a 42” flat screen TV, coffeemaker, and complimentary Wi-Fi Internet.  A 24-hour fitness center is also located on the premises.

Guests can dine at the property’s Paddy O’Neils Pub, which offers live entertainment, tap beers, and a juke box set, as well as at the Vertex Skybar, a rooftop venue that serves cocktails, wines and local cuisine.  The lobby also has a full-service Starbucks.

The property also has approximately 8,000 square feet (743 square meters) of meeting and event space.

To celebrate its affiliation with Hilton, the hotel is offering Hilton HHonors members 1,000 bonus points for stays through February 18, 2016.
