Hilton and Hyatt announced that the two companies will open a dual-branded hotel in Washington, D.C. in the fall of 2017.  The properties, a Canopy by Hilton hotel and a Hyatt House will be located at the Wharf, a mixed-use waterfront development located on the Washington Channel, a channel parallel to the Potomac River in Washington, D.C.

The Canopy by Hilton will be a 120,000 square feet (11,148 square meters) property and have 175 rooms, while the Hyatt House will be a 145,000 square feet (13,470 square meters) hotel and include 238 rooms. Together, including retail and shared space, the hotels will encompass approximately 300,000 square feet (27,870 square meters).

Cafes and dining options will also be located on the premises.  In addition, a rooftop bar with views of the Washington Channel will be available to guests of both hotels.

Other amenities that the dual-brand property will offer include an outdoor pool, a courtyard area, and a 1,110-square-foot (103-square-meter) fitness center.
