Fraport AG, the owner and operator of Frankfurt Airport, announced traffic figures for July 2015.

The airport’s passenger traffic for the month increased 6.6% year-over-year, resulting in an all-time high for monthly passenger traffic.  The figure beat the previous monthly record – August of 2014 – by approximately 130,000 passengers.

Additionally, the airport registered a new daily passenger record on July 31, with 216,732 passengers passing through the facility.

Aircraft movements at the airport were up by 2% to 43,710 takeoffs and landings, a figure that reflects the use of both larger aircraft and planes with higher seating densities.

The airport also reported a rise in maximum takeoff weight, with an increase of 3.8% to more 2.7 metric tons.

Cargo at Frankfurt, which includes air freight as well as airmail, decreased by 2% however, down to 177,840 metric tons.
