JW Marriott Los Cabos to Open Later This Year
Marriott International announced plans for the JW Marriott Los Cabos Beach Resort and Spa. The 299-room resort is slated to open this fall.
Architect Jim Olson and Mexican design firm Idea Asociados plan to display Los Cabos’ traditions, culture, and natural environment throughout the property.
The new hotel is located in Baja California Sur, Mexico, at the point where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean meet. All rooms will have ocean views and the property will offer guests seven restaurants, a spa and fitness center, a beach club, retail shops, and over 37,000 square feet (3,437 square meters) of meeting facilities.
The property’s signature restaurant will be Café des Artistes, which will offer guests a Mexican cuisine with French influences under the direction of Chef Thierry Blouet. It will provide indoor and outdoor seating, a chef’s private table, and a bar. Other establishments will include Nak & Grill Bar, serving local seafood, and the P’yote Rooftop Bar, which will serve cocktails on the hotel’s upper terrace.
The Jasha Spa will offer 12 treatment rooms, and outdoor garden and patio, vitality pools, an indoor pool, and private Jacuzzis. It will also host a modern version of a temazcal, a Mexican sweat lodge. The JW Marriott Los Cabos will also have a private marina and golf courses designed by Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus.
