HavanaAir Charters and Eastern Air Lines jointly announced the two carriers will operate new non-stop flights linking Houston, Texas to Havana, Cuba beginning in August.

Flights will be offered once weekly, on Wednesdays, using Eastern Air Lines Boeing 737-800 aircraft, equipped with 16 seats in the first-class cabin and 129 seats in coach.

HavanaAir currently offers two daily non-stop flights from Miami to Havana, as well as weekly service to Camaguey, Cuba’s third largest city, and Santa Clara, the capital city of the Cuban province of Villa Clara.

Eastern and HavanaAir plan to launch additional service from other U.S. cities in the near future.  Earlier this month, JetBlue and Cuba Travel Services began service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Havana.
