Shangri-La, Ulaanbaatar Hotel Opens in Mongolia
Shangri-La Hotels announced the opening of a new property in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. The Shangri-La, Ulaanbaatar is connected to the Shangri-La Centre, a 28-story mixed use development set to open next year, which will also include apartments, a sports club, and retail and commercial space.
The hotel’s lobby is outfitted with crystal chandeliers, as well as textured stone walls and decorative glass lights in the shape of hunting horns. The property offers 290 guestrooms and suites starting at 452 square feet (42 square meters), each with complimentary Wi-Fi Internet, as well as heated bathroom floors.
The Horizon Club, located on the hotel’s top floors, is set to open next month. Guests with access to the Horizon Club are afforded express check-in and checkout service, complimentary breakfast, use of the meeting room, and complimentary refreshments, including cocktails and canapés in the evening.
Dining venues include Naadam, a bar and grill featuring Western Cuisine, as well as Café Park, an all-day restaurant with an international buffet and an à la carte menu. In addition, Hutong, a Chinese restaurant, is slated to open this August.
The hotel provides approximately 28,449 square feet (2,643 square meters) of meeting and event space, including a 13,993-square-foot (1,300-square-meter) grand ballroom. Guests can also use the property’s fitness center, which includes a Jacuzzi and sauna and steam rooms.
