Residence Inn Adds Food Trucks and Grilling to its Social Hour
Residence Inn by Marriott announced plans to add a variety of foods to its thrice-weekly social hour at its properties.
The new program, called Residence Inn Mix, adds a mixture of local cuisine and new beverages to the evening repast.
Monday is TV night accompanied by light appetizers served around the fire pit. Tuesday is grill night, and Wednesday will vary, alternating between food from local food trucks, food from local hot spots, and dessert night.
Properties in Boston, Austin, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. will kick of the Residence Inn Mix rollout with special events including a program with Blippar that includes blippable beverage coasters that allow guests to unlock interactive activities including multi-player trivia games, customizable selfies, and suggested food and beer pairings.
Residence Inn, which opened its first property in 1975, is credited with creating the extended-stay lodging category. There are over 600 Residence Inn hotels in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
