Etihad Airways announced the start of a codeshare agreement with Pakistan International Airlines.

Under the agreement, Etihad will be able to place its code on Pakistan International flights linking five cities, namely Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Abu Dhabi.

In addition, Pakistan International will be allowed to place its code on Etihad Airways-operated flights between Abu Dhabi and Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore, as well as other Etihad flights from Abu Dhabi to various destinations around the world.

The codeshare agreement will go into effect on July 27.

The two carriers said they are also exploring ways to offer members of their respective loyalty programs reciprocal ways to earn and redeem miles on the codeshare flights in the future.
