DSC_0130Airbus announced the launch of its new Sustainable Aviation Engagement Programme, a long-term partnership program meant to help airlines reduce their environmental footprints.

Through the new program, Airbus will work with Cathay Pacific, British Airways, and KLM to develop pilot projects, which will be extended to other operators worldwide next year.

Airbus said that the program is based on four main ideas, namely aircraft technology, aircraft operations, sustainable aviation fuels, and air traffic management, or ATM.

The program will take advantage of Airbus’ latest generation of fuel-efficient aircraft, with the aim to minimize fuel burn and noise in their operation.
