Starwood announced the opening of the Westin Jekyll Island in Georgia.  Located on Jekyll Island, one of the state’s barrier islands, the hotel is one of six Westin properties that are slated to open in North America this year.

The hotel is part of the Jekyll Island Beach Village project, which also includes an oceanfront promenade, village green, restaurants, upscale boutiques, and the 128,000-square-foot (11,891-square-meter) Jekyll Island Convention Center.  All of the hotel’s 200 guestrooms have the brand’s signature Westin Heavenly Beds and Heavenly Showers.

The property provides over 5,260 square feet of meeting and event space, including private meeting rooms.  A fitness center and outdoor pool are also located on the premises.

The Reserve, the hotel’s restaurant, offers seafood and local cuisine, while Salty’s poolside bar and café offers cocktails and small dishes.  Guests can also enjoy drinks, appetizers, and entrées at Harry’s @ the Reserve, a rooftop lounge and bar.
