Starwood Introduces Tribute Brand of Hotels

Starwood announced the debut of its new Tribute brand of hotels, with the opening of the Royal Palm South Beach Miami.

The new brand, Starwood’s tenth, will be comprised of independent luxury hotels, and will complement the company’s Luxury Collection brand.  Starwood said that it plans to have Tribute hotels located in high-demand destinations where members of its SPG loyalty program regularly travel, but where Starwood properties are not predominant.

In addition to the Miami property, Starwood will open four Tribute hotels over the next two years, specifically in Asheville, North Carolina; Nashville, Tennessee; Savannah, Georgia; and Charleston, South Carolina. It plans to have over 100 open by 2020.

The Royal Palm South Beach Miami is located on Collins Avenue, and offers direct beach access.  Originally built in 1939, the property has 393 guestrooms, over 100 of which are suites.

The hotel also has two pools with cabanas, a fitness center, and over 10,000 square feet (929 square meters) of meeting and event space.  Dining options include: Florida Cookery Patio; an outdoor restaurant serving local cuisine; South Shore bar and lounge, which offers cocktails and small dishes; and the Coffee Bar, which offers coffee, juices, teas, and pastries.  Additionally, a new Mediterranean restaurant, Byblos, is set to open this summer.

In celebration of Starwood’s 10th brand, the company is offering SPG members the chance to earn up to 10,000 bonus points for stays through July 15, 2015.

Set to open in 2016, the Noel Place Hotel in Nashville will undergo extensive renovations to become a Tribute property.  When it opens, it will have 166 guestrooms and suites, a restaurant, and a rooftop bar and speakeasy.

Starwood will also open its Savannah Tribute property in 2016.  The hotel will be located in the city’s Historic District, and will have 173 guestrooms and suites, an outdoor pool, restaurant, and an 11,000-square-foot (1,021-square-meter) rooftop bar.

In Charleston, the company will open a Tribune property in 2016 as well.   The hotel will have 100 guestrooms, a rooftop pool, restaurant, and 11,000 square feet (1,021 square meters) of meeting and event space.

The Vandre Nouveau Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is scheduled to open in 2017 in Asheville, and will have 150 guestrooms and suites, a restaurant and lobby bar, and over 4,000 square feet (371 square meters) of meeting and event space.
