New St. Regis Hotel Opens in Istanbul

Starwood announced the opening of the St. Regis Istanbul hotel in Turkey. The property is the first St. Regis hotel to be located in the country.

The hotel is situated in the Nisantasi district, also known as the 5th Avenue of Istanbul, and was designed by famed Turkish architect Emre Arolat. All of the property’s 118 guestrooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of the Bosphorus.

Guests can dine at the hotel’s St. Regis Brasserie, which offers French dishes infused with a local twist, or at Spago Istanbul, a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, which features signature dishes such as “Angry” two-pound live lobster with Szechuan chillis, garlic, scallions, and black bean dust. Also on the menu is roast duckling “Peking Style” with blood oranges and port-ginger reduction. In addition, traditional and signature cocktails are available at the hotel’s Petit “O” bar.

The property hosts a fitness center and indoor pool, as well as a spa that offers seven treatment rooms, sauna and steam rooms, and hammam. The hotel also provides 8,255 square feet (767 square meters) of meeting and event space, including six meeting rooms and a ballroom.

The hotel also houses an extensive assortment of artwork, courtesy of the Demsa Collection of Art, with pieces from artists including Andy Warhol, Sam Francis, and Botero, as well as Turkish artists such as Devrim Erbil and Bedri Baykam. Custom pieces for the hotel are also displayed throughout, such as the Lasvit chandelier in the lobby, or the “Bosphorus Breeze” mural at the bar.
