DINING

The River House restaurant, located on ground level on River Street, predates the hotel, and is a favorite among locals as well as visitors. The unpretentious establishment focuses on seafood and our favorite dishes include the calamari, shrimp and grits, and blackened mahi. The River House is not connected with the hotel officially, but the two have a great working relationship.

Top Deck, the hotel’s rooftop bar, offers local brews as well as cocktails, and seating is designed so that guests get the best possible views, both indoors or out. We found it an inviting place to relax and unwind in the evening.

Because it doesn’t have an in-house restaurant, the Cotton Sail does not offer meal services but there are many nearby establishments where guests may enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner.

BOTTOM LINE

After two stays at the Cotton Sail, I’ve become quite fond of its charms, from the friendly and helpful staff to the views of the Savannah River and all the cultural and historic offerings this city replete with southern charm and hospitality offers the visitor. I truly look forward to my next visit
