United Forms New Aviation Ground-Handling Operation, Makes Multiple Executive Appointments
United Airlines made multiple executive appointments and announced the creation of an aviation ground-handling operation on Friday.
The Chicago-based airline said it forming the ground-handling operation to provide services not only to United but also to other carriers, similar to what American Airlines has with Eagle Ground Handling, a part of its Envoy unit, and Delta with Delta Global Services. The carrier announced the appointment of Lynda Coffman, currently vice president of food services, to run the unit.
Other appointments include Brad Rich to the position of senior vice president, United Express, replacing Sandra Pineau-Boddison, who becomes senior vice president, customers. Rich most recently served as the chief executive officer of regional carrier SkyWest.
In addition, Donna Towle, the airline’s vice president for employee relations, was appointed to the position of vice president, operations engagement and leadership.
