Another major winter storm is heading towards the northeastern United States, just in time for the weekend, and forecasters are predicting double-digit accumulations in many areas.

Snow will move into the Upper Midwest from Canada on Friday and begin its trek eastward.

The white stuff should begin in the Northeast Sunday afternoon and evening in the I-95 corridor between Philadelphia and Boston.

Expect significant flight delays and hazardous driving conditions starting Sunday.

The system will weaken on Monday but it will transition into a nor’easter and build in intensity before it begins to taper off Monday night and Tuesday.

Expect accumulations between 3” near Philly and as much as 15” or 16” in Boston and Albany.  New York City is likely to get 6”.
