Etihad Airways announced that it acquired a 75% stake in Alitalia Loyalty Spa, the entity that operates MilleMiglia, Alitalia’s frequent flyer program.

The acquisition follows news that Etihad would take a 49% stake in the Italian airline last year.

Alitalia Loyalty will become part of Global Loyalty Company, which also consists of Etihad Airways’ Etihad Guest, Air Berlin’s Topbonus, and Jet Airways’ JetPrivilege loyalty programs.

To celebrate the deal, MillieMiglia is offering a double welcome bonus of 4,000 miles to those who register for the program by February 28.
