The bath area, elegantly clad in yellow Italian marble with a wall covering that continued the theme, included two sinks with abundant counter space, a large bathtub, and a separate shower equipped with a rainforest shower head. Bath amenities from Asprey completed the picture, with the Purple Water shampoo and conditioner earning renewed appreciation from this writer.

A small but serviceable glass-topped writing desk, situated in the living room, was paired with a non-ergonomic, but comfortable for short stints, desk chair and a side chair was also included.

For meetings and events, the hotel provides 23,000 square feet (2,137 square meters) of function space on three levels. The hotel’s grand ballroom, conference rooms, and boardrooms were all recently renovated and offer a very modern ambiance.

During my stay, my need for minor tailoring on a new pair of trousers was promptly attended to by the hotel’s seamstress, who stopped by to pick them up. While everyone at the Ritz-Carlton excelled with personalized and warm service, this individual’s gracious attitude reinforced this impression (and she had the trousers back to me in no time at all).

Recently, when checking into another Ritz-Carlton, I was greeted with “Welcome to your home away from home.” It wasn’t just a sentiment but it truly reflected how the “ladies and gentlemen” who work at Ritz-Carlton feel about the ladies and gentlemen who are the guests. The Club Lounge, accessible via a staircase near my room, felt just like that and it became quite clear that others had this sentiment as well.

Throughout the day, the Club Lounge offers breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, snacks in the afternoon, and hot dishes in the evening representing different aspects of the city’s cuisines.
