Niki to Launch World’s Shortest International Flight
Austrian Carrier to Link Vienna with Bratislava with 20-Minute Trip
Flights will depart Vienna International Airport, also known as Flughafen Wien-Schwechat, at 5:50 p.m. and arrive in Milana Rastislava Štefánika Airport at 6:15 p.m. The duration of the flight will be 20 minutes. Return flights will leave Bratislava at 10:25 a.m., arriving in Vienna at 10:50 a.m.
The first flight will take place on April 1, 2015.
The flights will afford an excellent view of the Danube River from an altitude of 9,000 feet. Service on board the flight will, however, be limited due to its short duration. The service is designed to give passengers originating in Bratislava access to connecting flights departing from Vienna. The drive between the two cities takes roughly one hour.
Niki was founded in 2003 by Niki Lauda, a former Grand Prix driver and founder of Lauda Air, when he acquired the former Aero Lloyd Austria operation.
