Brazilian airline GOL Linhas aéreas inteligentes announced a codeshare with Korean Air.

Under the partnership, Korean Air will be allowed to place its code on all GOL-operated flights to destinations throughout North, South, and Central America.

In addition, members of GOL’s Smiles and Korean’s Skypass loyalty programs will be able to earn and redeem miles on all eligible flights operated by each of the other carrier.

GOL Linhas aéreas inteligentes was founded in 2000, and is based in São Paulo, Brazil.  Korean Air is GOL’s tenth codeshare partner, and its first in the Far East.

Korean Air is based in Seoul, South Korea, and was founded in 1946.   The carrier currently has codeshares on flights with 29 other airlines.
