DSC_4997Delta Air Lines announced financial results for December 2014.

The Atlanta-based carrier said that its consolidated passenger unit revenue, or Prasm, for the period decreased by 4.5% compared to December 2013.

Delta, the third-largest U.S. airline by traffic, said that the decrease was attributable to the calendar placement of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, thereby shifting some travel into neighboring months.

Despite the decrease in consolidated passenger unit revenue, Delta reported strong operating numbers in December, with a monthly completion factor of 99.9% and an on-time arrival rate of 88.9%.
