BOTTOM LINE

One week with the Cadillac ATS coupe has convinced me that this is not only not your father’s Oldsmobile or even his Cadillac. Indeed, it’s quite clear that General Motors is competing with non-American luxury automakers given the combination of comfort, convenience, and handling. For all the years that Cadillac has tried to build a European luxury car, starting with the 1976 Seville, it finally made it there once it abandoned the pretense of calling it just that.
