United to Begin Seasonal Chicago-Rome Flights

United Airlines announced that it will launch new seasonal service between Chicago and Rome, Italy on May 16, 2015.  The new route is subject to government approval.

The carrier will operate the service five times a week between May 16 and June 3, daily between June 4 and August 17, and six times a week between August 18 and September 23, 2015.

Flights are scheduled to depart Chicago O’Hare at 6:00 p.m. and arrive at Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport in Rome at 10:30 a.m. the next day.  Flights from Rome to Chicago will depart at 12:45 p.m. and arrive at 4:20 p.m.

United will operate the service using Boeing 777 aircraft, equipped with eight lie-flat seats in the Global First cabin, 40 lie-flat seats in BusinessFirst, 104 seats in Economy Plus, and 117 seats in economy.  Seats in first class are 22” wide, and have a bed length of 78”.
