Southwest Sees Increase in November Traffic

DSC_0495Southwest Airlines announced operational results for November 2014.

The carrier’s total system traffic was 8.554 billion RPMs, or revenue passenger miles, a year-over-year increase of 6% from 8.066 billion RPMs in November 2013.  The carrier had a total system capacity of 10.675 billion ASMs, or available seat miles, up 4% from 10.264 billion last November.

Passenger load factor also increased, up 1.5 percentage points to 80.1% from 78.6% last November.

Southwest said that its Prasm, or passenger revenue per available seat mile, had increased by approximately 4% to 5% year-over-year.
