DSC_0498Republic Airways Holdings announced that its partnership with Delta Air Lines would soon be expanded.

The two airlines agreed on Thursday that Republic would operate nine additional 69-seat Embraer E170 aircraft.  The aircraft will begin to go into service in the third quarter of 2015 and the second quarter of 2016 and will operate for a period of six years per aircraft.

Republic also announced that Delta was extending its agreement for Republic to operate 14 existing E170 aircraft by four years and 16 E175 aircraft by five years, which means that the agreements will be in force through October 2021 and February 2024 respectively.

The Indianapolis-based airline holding company, which operates Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines, and Shuttle America, will either source the aircraft internally or purchase used aircraft to fulfill the contract
