Airbus announced the delivery of its first ever A350 XWB to launch customer Qatar Airways on Monday.

The A350 is the first all-new Airbus model since the double-decker A380 jumbo jet debuted back in 2005. It is longer and wider than the existing A330 and A340 models and, through design advancements, significant use of composite materials, and all-new Rolls Royce turbofans, is 25% more efficient.

With the delivery, Qatar Airways becomes the first airline in the world to operate each member of Airbus’ wide-body family, including the A380 and A330.

As of November 2014, the Airbus has received 778 orders for the A350 XWB from 41 customers worldwide.
