LoungeBuddy Adds Support for Lounge Access Purchase in the U.S.

LoungeBuddy, which released version 2.0 of its app in November, announced it was adding the ability to purchase airport lounge access from a mobile device for locations within the United States.  It also announced a lounge management tool and Apple Pay integration.

The LoungeBuddy app locates and recommends airline lounges at specific airports based on user-defined criteria.

Effective today, with version 2.02 running on iOS devices, LoungeBuddy will support in-app purchases for a total of 16 airports in the United States.  Alaska Airlines Board Room lounges as well as Minute Suites, which offers travelers in-airport private suites for one hour or more in Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Dallas-Fort Worth.  In the United Kingdom, the app supports a variety of Plaza Premium and Servisair lounges.

The San Francisco-based company said it plans to add additional lounges in the United States and United Kingdom, as well as in Canada, Asia, Australia, and on the European continent.

In addition to the ability to purchase lounge access, LoungeBuddy announced an iPad-based lounge management tool that airport lounges can use to check in passengers, as well as Apple Pay integration, which allows travelers to pay for a lounge visit from within the app.
