Alaska Airlines Flight Attendant Union Votes to Accept New Contract
Alaska Airlines’ flight attendant union announced on Wednesday that its members voted to accept a tentative contract agreement between the union and the airline.
The tentative contract agreement was first announced in October, with a ratification vote by the union’s board scheduled to take place in December.
The agreement includes an increase in pay, built-in protections for reigning health care costs, improved job protections, and work rules.
The news follows over two years of contract negotiations between the Association of Flight Attendants, which represents 3,300 flight attendants at Alaska, and the airline. The five-year agreement was reached with the participation of the National Mediation Board.
