Aeromexico Traffic Up 6% in November

Aeromexico announced operational results for November 2014.  The carrier’s total passenger traffic, as well as it total capacity for the month, both increased by 5.6% year-over-year.

The Mexico City-based airline’s international operations saw the greatest improvement.  International traffic was 1.504 billion revenue passenger kilometers, or RPKs, an increase of 10.2% from 1.365 billion RPKs in the same month last year.  Aeromexico’s domestic traffic, however, saw a decrease, down 1.6% to 876 million RPKs from 890 million RPKs in November 2013.

The carrier’s international capacity increased 10% year-over-year, up to 1.922 billion available seat kilometers, or ASKs, from 1.748 billion ASKs in November 2013.  Meanwhile, domestic capacity fell 1.3% to 1.115 billion from 1.130 billion ASKs last year.

The airline’s international load factor was 78.5%, a year-over-year increase of 0.1 percentage points from 78.4% last November. Meanwhile, the carrier’s domestic load factor dropped slightly, down 0.2 percentage points year-over-year, to 78.7% from 78.9% last year.
