2014 Last Minute Holiday Gift Guide
If you are still making your list but not finding the right gift, don’t worry: it isn’t too late. We’ve already done the hard part for you.
From an Audi A3 diesel to a Bluetooth- and app-enabled toothbrush, to earplugs and a razor-of-the-month club, here are gifts that friends and relatives will enjoy and cherish.
Audi A3 TDI
The state of the art in diesel cars in the United States continues to evolve. For the 2015 model year, Audi is offering its brand new A3 four-door sedan (the A3 was previously only available as three-door hatchback) and, while it falls into the compact sedan class, there is nothing compact about it. Available with a six-speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission paired to a 2.0-liter diesel powerplant that develops 236 pound-feet of torque. On our initial run from Atlanta to Savannah averaging 70 mph (112 km/h), we saw 49 miles per gallon (4.8 l/100 km).
Our Glacier white metallic top-of-the-line Prestige edition came extremely well appointed with LED headlights, a sweet-sounding 705-watt 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, Audi’s new MMI touch controller with handwriting recognition, Audi connect that included an in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot, and sporty S line trim.
It was a joy to drive and, if your holiday tree is big enough, would make a great present for your favorite car enthusiast.
