United Airlines Load Factor Drops in October
United Airlines announced operational results for October 2014.
The Chicago-based carrier said its consolidated traffic and capacity were both slightly up year-over-year, while its load factor declined slightly.
Total system traffic was 17.04 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, up 0.4% from October 2013. Meanwhile, total capacity was up by 0.7% to 20.86 billion available seat miles, or ASMs.
The airline’s consolidated load factor was 81.9%, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from 82.7% in October 2013.
United’s load factor for transatlantic flying rose slightly in October by one percentage point and United’s load factor for its Latin American flying rose 1.4 percentage points, while its Asian operations saw a decrease of 2.5 percentage points.
