DINING

Not surprisingly, the Sofitel has a charming bistro-style restaurant, Chez Colette, which is also open for breakfast when it offers a bountiful buffet with an overflowing basket of croissant and breads. My principal addiction, the French toast, was excellent although the dish, contrary to popular belief, is not of French origin.

While my schedule didn’t permit me to enjoy other meals at the hotel the Liberté lounge, which serves cocktails and “French-inspired” food, looked quite inviting.

BOTTOM LINE

The Sofitel Philadelphia was the fourth Sofitel I’ve stayed at (the others were the Sofitel Bayer post Munich, the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, and the Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square), and each visit was as pleasant and enjoyable as the next.

The combination of a great location, attentive staff, and comfortable surroundings in all of the above locations is why I’ll look to stay at another Sofitel very soon.
