The marble-clad bath had a French provincial feel to it. It was quite spacious, with a separate soaking tub and shower. A plush bathrobe and slippers, along with Lanvin shampoo and conditioner, completed the picture.

A generously sized writing desk faced the living room’s only window, providing a quiet area to work and gaze out the window. The desk was paired with an ultra-modern stainless-and-leather chair that provided excellent back support.

Wi-Fi was available at no charge and worked quite well.

The Sofitel offers 16 meeting rooms for a total of 16,000 square feet (1,486 square meters) of space. They can accommodate anything from a small board meeting or private dinner, and the Paris Ballroom can host a sit-down event for 250.

Philadelphia is a city that demands its visitors walk. It is one of the most accessible cities to explore on foot and its historic streets are a pleasure to stroll.

The Sofitel has a complete fitness center with a variety of cardio and weight machines, but I did so much walking the three days I was in town that I never made it into the gym.
