Frontier Airlines and Airbus announced an order for nine A321ceo aircraft. The A321ceo is the “current engine option” model of the plane.

The single-aisle planes will come with sharklet wing tip devices and will be 4% more fuel efficient than current jets.  They also have an extended range of up to 100 nautical miles (185 kilometers).

The airline has not yet announced what its engine selection or seat configuration for the new aircraft will be.

Frontier currently has a fleet of 35 A319ceo and 20 A320ceo aircraft.
