Delta Air Lines announced that it will cease operating four of its non-stop routes from Memphis International Airport next year, although it will begin serving several new cities from its former hub.

Beginning January 5, 2015, the airline will no longer offer non-stop service from Memphis to Pittsburgh International Airport, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.  In addition, the carrier will discontinue its Memphis-Washington Reagan route next April.

The Atlanta-based airline also said that it will be laying off 84 employees in Memphis due to the flight reductions.

Delta said it plans to begin non-stop service from Memphis to McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas on March 4 and to Salt Lake City International Airport on June 5.
