DSC_0068Auberge Resorts Collection, a company that operates boutique hotels, resorts, residences, and private clubs, announced that it will take over management at Nanuku Resort and Spa in Fiji.  The hotel, which opened this past March, will be rebranded by the company as Nanuku Auberge Resort Fiji, and will be Auberge’s first property located outside of North America.

The resort is located on Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu, and has 18 Balinese-style suite and villa accommodations, each with contemporary furnishings and Fijian décor.  Each suite and villa also has private decks and plunge pools.

The resort’s Vunikua (Treehouse) Residence is located on top of a volcanic outcrop overlooking the Beqa Lagoon.  The residence has four suites (the Penthouse Suite and three Vunikua Suites), which can be reserved separately or together.

The property has a spa, the Lomana Spa and Wellness Centre, which includes a fitness center, a hair salon, a children’s club, and a guest library.  Guests can also interact with and take lessons from local artisans at the resort’s Cakava Creative Workshop, with activities such as grass skirt weaving and tapa printing.

Dining options include the Kanavata Restaurant and Lounge Bar, which offers views of an infinity pool and a lagoon, the Sunset Deck, located poolside, and the Wai Pool Bar, which offers tropical drinks infused with local ingredients.  In addition, guests may choose to have pre-arranged gourmet picnics on the beach, or alfresco barbeques by the pool.

Each guest has a “Villa Mama” – according to the property, this person acts as a hybrid butler and a housekeeper – and families can have a dedicated nanny for children under the age of six between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.  Guests can also take advantage of various nearby activities, such as surfing, waterfall hikes, fishing, and stand-up river rafting through the rainforest.

The resort has its own private airstrip, and is a 20-minute flight from Nadi International Airport.  When guests land, they are transferred to the resort in a private car.
