Air Canada announced financial results for the third quarter of 2014.

The Montreal-based airline reported the highest net income for a quarter in the airline’s history, with a profit of $457 million.  Passenger revenue increased 9.4% to $3.476 billion from $3.177 billion for the three months ended September 2014 compared to the same period in 2013.

Passenger revenue per available seat mile, or Prasm, rose 0.2%.

Passenger traffic in Q3 showed an 11% increase and capacity was up by 9.8%.  The airline’s load factor, which represents the portion of seats filled, increased to 87.2% from 86.2%.
