DSC_0782Hilton Worldwide announced the launch of a new brand of hotels, Canopy by Hilton.  The first properties are expected to begin opening in 2015.

Hilton said that its new brand will incorporate five main elements into the design of each hotel, namely: great neighborhoods, market-driven approach, comfort and design, more included value, and “positively yours” culture.

Canopy by Hilton hotels will offer local food and drinks at each property, as well as art from the respective local areas.  Each hotel will also have complimentary Wi-Fi and breakfast, along with evening tastings of local beer, wine, or spirits.  Guests will also receive a welcome gift that is unique to the area.

Hilton also promises that “no two Canopy hotels will be the same.”

One of the first of 11 planned properties is set to open in Rockville, Maryland.  The hotel will be located in Pike & Rose, a mixed-use development that will also include 450,000 square feet (41,806 square meters) of retail space, 1.1 million square feet (102,193 square meters) of office space, and 1,500 residential units.

The hotel will have 177 guestrooms, as well as dining options that will change during the day and nighttime in the lobby.

Along with the new property in Rockville, Hilton plans to open Canopy by Hilton hotels in London, Miami, San Diego, Nashville, Savannah, Indianapolis, Charlotte, Oklahoma City, Ithaca, and Portland, Oregon.
