Delta Reports Third Quarter Earnings
Airline's Traffic, Capacity, Load Factor Improve in Latest Quarter

Delta Air Lines announced financial results for the third quarter of 2014.
The Atlanta-based airline reported net income for the quarter of $1.0 billion, after one-time charges for a fleet restructuring, debt extinguishment, and employee profit-sharing. Passenger revenue increased 6% to $9.776 billion from $9.254 billion for the three months ended September 2014 compared to the same period in 2013.
Passenger revenue per available seat mile, or Prasm, rose 2.4%.
Passenger traffic in Q3 showed a 3.7% increase and capacity was up by 3.2%. The airline’s load factor, which represents the portion of seats filled, increased to 86.4% from 86%.
