United Airlines announced operational results for August 2014.  The airline’s consolidated traffic and capacity both increased slightly for the month, while its passenger load factor decreased.

Meanwhile, consolidated load factor for the month dropped 0.1 percentage points to 87.3% from 87.4% last August.

The airline’s international operations showed the greatest year-over-year improvement, with a 2.3% increase in revenue passenger miles and a 3.2% increase in available seat miles.  Domestic RPMs decreased 2.2% with a 2.7% drop in domestic ASMs.  Mainline RPMs remained unchanged year-over-year with a slight 0.2% increase in mainline ASMs, while regional RPMs increased 1.1% with a 0.3% increase in regional ASMs.
