United Airlines announced the expansion of its passenger transfer service at its hub at Denver International Airport on Tuesday.

The service offers select members of the airline’s Global Services program as well as United Global First passengers who are connecting through Denver a ride from one gate to another across the tarmac.

United staff members meet eligible passengers upon arrival and drive them across the tarmac to their connecting flights in Mercedes-Benz GL350 BlueTec SUVs. The service gives priority to passengers with tight connections, and is intended to make connecting flight transfers faster and easier for United’s top-tier customers.

The Mercedes-Benz GL350 BlueTec is powered by a fuel-efficient 3.0-liter diesel engine that develops 240 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque.  The GL350 is rated at 19 mpg (12.37 l/100 km) in city driving and 26 (9.0) on the highway.

The addition of the service in Denver means that United now offers it at all of its hubs, which include Chicago, Houston, and Newark.

United also partners with Mercedes-Benz to offer promotional packages and bonus points to Premier members of the airline’s MileagePlus program who purchase or lease Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
