SkyWest announced operational results for August 2014.

The airline’s total traffic in August was 2.878 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year decrease of 0.5% from 2.893 billion RPMs in August 2013.

Total capacity for the month was 3.431 billion available seat miles, or ASMs, a 2.1% drop from 3.506 billion ASMs last August.

Meanwhile, the airline’s passenger load factor in August increased by 1.4 percentage points to 83.9%, up from 82.5% in the same month last year.

SkyWest reports on a system-wide basis, and does not break down results by subsidiary.  The final numbers represent combined data from the parent company’s two subsidiaries, SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines.
