Newark Liberty International Airport will get new dining and retail venues, as well as upgrades in technology for passengers as part of an 18-month renovation of the airport’s Terminal C.  The $120 million refurbishments will be undertaken by a partnership of United Airlines and OTG Management, an airport development company.

New venues will include more than 55 cafés, markets, and food and beverage outlets in 60 gate areas. The airport will also open new duty-free shops as part of the renovations.

In addition, the airport will provide 6,000 iPad tablets for free public use throughout the terminal, as well as over 10,000 power outlets and USB ports.

United Airlines currently offers more than 5,200 flights a day to 369 destinations on six continents.  The carrier flies to 150 destinations worldwide from three New York area airports, including Newark Liberty.
