DSC_0519Morgans Hotel Group announced the opening of the Mondrian London at Sea Containers hotel.  The new property is located on the banks of the River Thames in London, within close walking distance of popular attractions such as Tate Modern, Royal Festival Hall, the National And Globe theatres, and the London Eye.

The 359-room hotel has a handcrafted copper hull leading from the entrance through the lobby, inspired by the age of transatlantic travel and the body of a ship.  The property also has over 5,500 square feet (510 square meters) of meeting and event space, including a 56-seat screening room.

The hotel’s restaurant, Sea Containers, can seat up to 200 guests and offers locally sourced food.  Guests can also have tea at the property’s gathering place, the Den, while Dandelyan, the hotel’s bar, offers cocktails and views of the River Thames.

A spa is also located on the premises, and has six treatment rooms.  In addition, a rooftop bar and terrace is set to debut at the hotel in the near future.

The Mondrian London at Sea Containers is Morgans’ first Mondrian-brand hotel to be located outside of the United States.
