JetBlue Airways announced operational results for August 2014.  The carrier’s traffic and capacity both increased, as did its passenger load factor.

JetBlue’s passenger traffic for the month was 3.719 billion revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, a year-over-year increase of 6.7% from 3.484 billion RPMs in August 2013.  Capacity for the month also rose by 4.9% year-over-year, up to 4.211 billion available seat miles, or ASMs from 4.016 billion ASMs last August.

The airline reported a passenger load factor of 88.3% for the month, a year-over-year increase of 1.5 percentage points from 86.8% in the same month last year.

JetBlue’s passenger revenue per available seat mile, or Prasm, also increased, up 4% year-over-year.
