DSC_0164Airbus announced that its A320neo family of aircraft will deliver a 20% fuel burn savings per seat by 2020.  The number is an increase from the fuel burn savings of 15% that the aircraft will have when they first go into service next year.

The increase in efficiency will be achieved thanks to improvements in Airbus’ cabins and engines.

The aircraft manufacturer is also offering airlines an increased seat count for the new A320neos, by incorporating its new Space-Flex rear lavatory and galley arrangement, as well as its Smart-Lay seats.

Airbus expects its A320 family to be recertified with increased seats limits by the end of this year.

To date, Airbus has received over 3,250 firm orders from 60 customers for the A320neo.
